LL Burns is the name of the musical project of the talented film directors CC Wade, who have done music videos for artists like King Krule, Jerkcurb, Goat Girl and Michael Kiwanuka. To understand the music of LL Burns, first you must delve into their pictorial minds, which echo imagery from the past, in turn propelling forward films of the present. They've just released 'Get Me Back in the Game' which is a dark and dour song that could have been written by the Twin Peaks composer Angelo Badalamenti. There's a wicked bass slide, 80s drum sounds, along with moody and cinematic vocals which echo the deep and smoky tones of Tom Waits. The music video that accompanies is a self-directed cinematic haven, with strong hints of Jim Jarmusch from the get go.
